I have been recently looking for a mac like docking software for Ubuntu. I have just managed to find what I have been looking for. Its a software developed under google code. You can add/remove both applet widgets and themes to this dock. It is stable and extremely nice. If you would like to have more info about this tool please visit their website.
Add the following repository to your repository list:

deb http://dl.google.com/linux/deb/ stable non-free

To install this too please do:

sudo apt-get install avant-window-navigator
